The Festival Nobody Planned
Some celebrations don't need a reason.
Nobody had planned a festival that Tuesday.
It began with a dancer in a sunlit courtyard, jasmine tucked into her hair. A tea seller tapped his spoon against a glass, a passing drummer caught the rhythm, and before long, an entire village was dancing.
There were no invitations, no grand preparations, and no special occasion. Just music, laughter, and the simple joy of being alive.
When a traveller asked what everyone was celebrating, the dancer smiled.
“Isn't being alive reason enough?”
Inspired by the spontaneous joy of Sri Lankan life, this monochrome illustration captures a beautiful reminder that happiness doesn't always need an occasion.
Because sometimes, the best moments aren't planned. They're simply danced into existence.
